When the BBC start writing about the quarter-life crisis, you know it’s real. Kinda interesting. and the reasons why and wherefore behind it.

I mailed that story to Lisa, who emailed it to her parents, who emailed back a thoughtful treatise. Wish I could do that with my parents. :-(

So why are us 20-somethings going through a quarter-life crisis? I do think the media has something to blame for it, promoting the notion of an ideal life when, to quote Brad Pitt in Fight Club,

“they tell us we’ll all be rock stars and movie gods but we won’t”

Lisa’s parents say it’s because we don’t talk to each other any more, which is also true. Probably why that holiday was so damned refreshing.
