Tell us what you think...

I remember overhearing a great Mitchell & Webb sketch lampooning the way in which media companies now desperately solicit comments and feedback on almost everything. In a roundabout way via Jem Stone's blog and Broadcast, here is the text transcription I shall be pasting onto all pages!

"Are you personally affected by this issue ? Then e-mail us. Or if you’re not affected, can you imagine what it would be like if you were ? Or if you
were affected by it but don’t want to talk about it can you imagine what it would be like not being affected by it ? Why not email us ? You may not know anything about the issue, but i bet you reckon something. So why not tell us what you reckon. Let us enjoy the full majesty of your uninformed ad hoc reckoning, by going to bbc.co.uk…clicking on “what i reckon” and beating on the keyboard with your fists and your head."

Of course, it'd be nice if people actually responded to comments instead of deploying the old management-speak of "I hear what you're saying..."

I think that in the broadest scope I may only reckon towards the preceeding work, but I opine that such work may or may not be rhetorical (ie, to provoke thoughtful insight versus collabrative understanding, sans verbage). That being said, I can only deduce that nodding thoughtfully at the screen is my best course of action in this inagural type of discourse. However, I find flaw in that reasoning as this work is by and large written form, and as such, a thoughtful nod might prove moot as it will be perceived as a non-comment. (Sidebar: It should be noted that this reasoning in and of itself may be flawed, as I have not fully researched the journal from its inception, and can only work upon such limited data as reading the user info page and going back a dozen or so entries. Therefore, the entire premise may hinge upon an alternative mode of communication ((ie, video or even audio)) that I am not aware of). Therefore, my only reasonable course of action is to respond thusly:

"I hear what you're saying." *nod* *nod* *nod*

Point of order: since you are adressing one female, it is BravA, not BravO. But, yes, I do so rock out with my cock out. :)

Aw nuts! Have you ever played cock out golf? It's a game my friend Andy and I made up. When playing a golf video game (which I hate playing - golf, not video games), if my tee off was father than his, he had to play the rest of the hole with his cock out. Automatic cock out of he couldn't hit it past the ladies' tee. I have odd friends. Ah, fun times.

It was a point of pride to always get past me, but when you drink and play video games, bad things happen. The week we invented this game was the week he and I got snowed in to my apartment during spring break. We had the following set up in the living room: (this was spring '99)

His large computer, to play Half Life mostly.

Large TV screen, to play PS or PS2, I can't remember (generally that golf game, although I remember playing a lot of FF7 and other stuff)

A smaller TV screen in the corner, that played porn on a loop all week.

And no, we weren't together or did anything. We just knew what helped us truly enjoy a vacation.

It was an insane week.

If you think THAT was bad, I am definately NOT telling you about the rest of the week. :P And what would I do, wear a deep cut shirt? Oh, the humanity! ;)

Okay, to bed for me till this yuckiness subsides. Night!

you know, I would like to, but I recently got my nipples pierced, so now they poke through the fabric -

- are you still there? Did you fall over yet?

I am so giddy (see my post) I just don't care what I say!~
