Calling Scottish Koreans

Apparently, “Scotch Koreans” don’t make “a wee bit of sense”, according to Starburst:

I would say it’s mildly annoying, but people are generally slightly surprised when I open my mouth and an English accent comes out. (or as someone once said, Ewan McGregor’s voice ?!). And I was surprised when I once bumped into a Chinese guy with a Danish accent.

Hrm…. what do you think?

Yeah, I'm kind of ... "WTF?" about it, and the implication that there couldn't possibly be any Asian folk with Scottish accents (outrageous or otherwise)... I don't care for it much as a result.

I think it is a bit of an unexpected contradiction and I think it's cool. (though obviously the "contradiction" comes from the use of a nationality as an ethnicity, which bother my logic parts).

I was a bit surprised to hear your accent come out of your mouth the first time, too. I don't think that's a bad thing, though. it's only natural to have certain expectations. the problem comes when I start judging you because of it.

I once knew a Chinese guy from Sweden, which was interesting. I think it's kind of like if you met a white guy with a Japanese accent--it's just surprising because it's not currently a usual thing. I don't think I'd ever bother to make it into a commercial though.

It's analogous to Indians with Yorkshire accents I suppose. But there were plenty of those in Bradford, weren't there?
