Aiming to show that there's more to life than money (there is?), a book conducted some market research trying to equate various activities to a lottery windfall. Via this very shaky methodology, they have also concluded that:

- love is worth £154,849
- a night with your mates is worth £63,256
- reading a book? £53,660
- being happy at work? £37,229
- looking forward to the weekend? £49,764

Someone trying to suggest that reading a crap book is 1.4 times worse than having a miserable job: priceless.

What the hell? Are these retail values? I mean, you might convince someone to trade love for that much, but I'm pretty sure that I'd never pay 63,000 for a night with anyone who isn't blowing me.
