I'm filling in a UK application form for a job, and have to fill in my gender. I can choose transgender, if I choose to do so.

Then again, I also have to fill in my sexual orientation. Not that it's relevant in my case, but where's that sliding scale.

And all this for a job for a charity ... Comic Relief in this case.

Ah well. One step forward, one step back... I imagine it'd be better if I didn't need to fill any of this at all!

I suspect all the questions are so HR minion can produce stats to tell the world what a nice diverse non predjudice company they are. Soon, we'll all be asked how many sexual partners we've had so they can produce reports that say 45% of our senior team are women, 39% of our workforce are from an Ethnic minority, 25% have a disability. We also have 7 lesbians, a mute, a she male and 76 complete slappers amongst our numbers!
