When my dad tore his aorta from his heart in a car accident, the emergency surgeon and staff patched him up promptly and perfectly, saving his life, without a whisper of a question around whether he had health insurance. Which is how it should be. That shouldn't even be an anecdote. (Though obviously I'm glad in that case it was.)
