Admittedly, they probably had the best gag-meisters in the world working on their respective routines, but how did we let America steal the comedy crown? First Friends and now this. (I refuse to acknowledge The Office - it is the demon child of British Comedy which will one day be rightfully shunned by its peer group) I can't help feeling a Brown vs Cameron comedy face-off would be incredibly dull, especially if this constitutes a Brown joke.

This person speaks truth. It sucked ass. However, when you base an entire generational comedy on men in dresses, funny walks, and skits about dead birds, you knew you were going to have to pass the torch sooner or later...

I tried watching the Office and just couldn't get into it. Perhaps I should try the British original, maybe that's what's been bothering me!

I've never seen the American version, but i hated the British original. But I seem to be in a minority of one on that one!

Hum. I have no idea who Al Smith is/was, but I'd already mistakenly read it as Alfred E Neuman before Obama's "well paid comedy writers" came up with that one. Mainly because I've *heard* of him.

As for The Office, it's one of the worst most fetid piles of televisual gobshite ever to disgrace the airwaves. Avoid avoid avoid. In fact, avoid anything with that idiot Ricky Gervais in it. He's just not funny. Will people please stop telling him he is?
