After my snafu with my main blog, I got to thinking about what makes LiveJournal such a great blogging system, and also (counterintuitively) what makes it a terrible blogging system for integrating with the rest of the web.

Then LiveJournal announces they're looking for someone to join the Advisory Board. Which sounds very tempting.

But I'm sure I barely know any of the lobbyists, hidden interests and powerful cliques within LiveJournal. Right now, to me, they're invisible. But I'm sure that they'll all come out of the woodwork in the clusterfest that would be the voting process. Especially if I'm running on a "Let's make LiveJournal better!"-esque message...

For those of you who have been on LiveJournal for, like, for ever, man ... how many lobbyists are there?

I wouldn't have a clue. In fact I had no idea such things even existed! If you apply do you have to do a little campaign and get votes and everything??
