Quick question, Internet users out there:

Should you give Christmas cards to people you see all the time? Or just wish them a merry Christmas?

Is it better to be frugal when it comes to giving out Christmas cards (issued on paper after all) or to be excessive?

Just set an effort threshold that keeps you happy and if anyone excluded approaches you can give them the pleasure of your company instead :-)

I usually send cards to those I don't see all the time-those I see in person I extend happy wishes in person :)

What she said - unless there's a reason to give a card. However you can circumvent this card thing with those you see all the time by giving them a small, yet well thought-out gift in honor of the season. I find that works really well. =)

I just don't send cards at all. And I prefer not to get them, either. Each year, I generally send out a mail telling people that if they really want to send me a card to forget it an drop a quid into a charity box instead. Rather the RSPCA get the cash than flipping Hallmark.
