While randomly surfing (as yer do), I stumbled upon a website with an attractive photo of a smiling chirpy redheaded woman and thought she was stunningly attractive etc.
Except, upon looking at the rest of the page, I find:
a. She died a year ago in a terrible train accident
b. She's thirteen.
btw, the site is basically her memorial, and asks people to write her name - "Charlie" - wherever they are in the world in memory of her. If you'd like to do that sort of thing.
This reminds me of the time at a friend's wedding when one of the bride's party - a woman in a red dress - kept smiling at me throughout the day, and I thought my luck was almost in. I failed to notice that she was never kept alone at the wedding - she was being constantly chaperoned by a lot of people - and she was smiling at other people too. It only dawned on me later on that the smile was of the mentally-disabled kind, and she had the mental age of a young girl. Oh dear.
