One of my fantastic birthday presents was a very frail pure glass teapot from Miss H. Which I promptly managed to break.

So should I:

- scour the Earth for a similar glass teapot, and hope to Devil she doesn't notice when she pops round for tea?

- admit defeat, tell Miss H and ask her where she got it from?

actually, thinking more on this, it would be flattering to know that you want to replace something that was broken meaning you cared about it in the first place.

I thought this too. You get points for honesty, and bonus points for proving you actually care about the present she bought.
