ahem... this was MY FIRST breaking point with the Catholic Church. Ultimately I left because i didn't believe a word of what they said, BUT this was the first thing that REALLY PISSED ME OFF.

How DARE women be treated as equals to men! How dare we assume that we have the same rights and priviledges just because we don't posses a penis.

Quite so! You'd think the defectors'd be worried about signing up to an organisation that demands they believe in extra magic bits, not even because they somehow wangled a quotation about something similar from the Bible, but just because the Pope says so, and which could technically decree things at them at any time, all because the Pope says they can keep some of their own practices (and how long will that last)?
